Most shoe storage is flimsy, mass-produced, and designed to be replaced.

This bench was created for the opposite reason.

It was originally designed for our own home — a simple, strong solution to everyday clutter. When friends began asking us to make one for them, Iconique was born.

Each bench is built in our workshop using traditional fabrication methods, combining a welded steel frame with a solid timber top. The result is a piece that’s strong enough to sit on daily, practical enough for real homes, and good-looking enough to be a permanent feature.

Why this bench costs what it does

We believe in being transparent about our pricing.

This bench isn’t mass-produced or imported. It’s made one at a time in our workshop using solid materials and traditional fabrication methods — and that takes time, skill, and care.

Here’s what goes into each one:

Materials

We use solid steel and real timber — not the cheapest sections and veneered boards.
Steel is cut, welded, and finished by hand, and the timber is selected, prepared, and finished individually.

Time & Skill

Each bench takes several hours to make, from fabrication through to finishing.
This includes cutting, welding, grinding, sanding, oiling, and final assembly.

Finish & Durability

Every frame is properly finished to last, not just sprayed for appearance.
The wood is sealed to handle daily use and wear.

Small-batch production

We don’t mass-produce or outsource. Each bench is made in small batches in our workshop, which allows us to maintain quality but means we can’t compete with factory pricing.

When you buy one of our benches, you’re not just buying furniture — you’re investing in something made properly, by someone who cares about how it’s built.

This shoe bench is made to solve one problem Shoes! If your house is anything like ours you're probably drowning in a sea of shoes. 

The Bench is made from a sturdy metal frame manufactured by us in our artisan workshop in the Norfolk Countryside, the metal frame is welded to make it solid and robust.

Once fabricated the frame is then powder coated in Satin Black to give it a durable "wipe clean" finish that won't fade or wear over time.

The solid wooden top is also hand crafted by us with your choice of wood...  Either reclaimed scaffold boards, Oak or Walnut or other hardwoods (sourced to order) Oak and other hardwoods are an additional cost and subject to availability (but look amazing). 

You then have a choice of different finishes (my current favourite is Honey).

This is a well made solid shoe storage bench and will not only look amazing in your home but it will last a lifetime and solve an endless problem.

As we make all of our furniture by hand to order we can adapt it to your requirements, if for instance our standard sizes don't work for you or you want a different finish, simply get in touch and we'll do what we can to help.
